Lisa Nagle

CEO/President

Lisa Nagle has 28 years’ experience in this industry. She is dedicated to upholding our company values and delivering the greatest possible experience to our partners. In 1997, Lisa launched Pacific Link in the United States to provide educational programs for Chinese youth. Lisa has also served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives for a Leader Development company. Lisa worked as a consultant on leadership to provide learning opportunities, resources and consulting services that have impacted thousands of leaders in many countries. Lisa has a master’s degree in Asian Studies and International Business from Seton Hall University (1996), an Executive Management Certificate from the University of Notre Dame (2011) and a B.A. in political science from Colorado State University (1988). She worked in Washington DC for six years from 1988-1994 teaching American high school students about civics and government and she was the president of the U.S. Senate Toastmasters club. She serves on the board of directors of three youth and leadership development organizations.

 

Rick Mann  

Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Rick has a passion for equipping leaders and organizations to create remarkable value for their stakeholders. This passion finds expression at the Skinner School of Business and Technology where he provides academic oversight of on-campus and online programs for adult students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also teaches graduate courses on topics of leadership and strategy. Earlier in his career, Rick worked for a number of years in China teaching at the university level as well as training and supervising teachers in China. For four years, he chaired an international association of colleges and universities in over 60 countries. Rick has a BS from Western Michigan University in 1978, an MA and PhD from Ohio State University in 1986, and an MBA from University of Minnesota in 2009.

Dave Short

Director of Partnerships

Dave has served as the National Director of Alpha in a Student Context for almost 9 years. His role included tactical and operational responsibilities such as program development, strategic partnerships, communication/marketing, resources and training. He and his wife Valerie also operate a successful Host Family program in the Chicago area which has served more than 2,000 international students from 7 universities along with hosting over 1000 Chinese officials in the past 10 years through the program. Dave has traveled extensively in and outside of the United States working with a variety of organizations. Dave, Valerie and their two daughters, Jenna and Blessing, served in Southeast Asia for all of 2013 to promote the use of Alpha throughout the region. Dave and Valerie have five children between the ages of 16 and 27. They reside in Chicago.

 

Linda Zhang

Business Manager

Linda Zhang has held several positions across different fields during the past years. She was educated in China and worked as a book editor for ten years before coming to the States. Her role as an editor involved editing educational books and coordinating staff members to ensure that the production of books ran on schedule. While in the States, Linda studied the fields of computer science and accounting at the college level and later joined Compu Capital as an accounting specialist in 2004. Linda’s responsibilities at Compu Capital involved daily accounting functions, bank recons, internal auditing and reports requested by the management team. Linda’s latest position was with Penn Harris Madison school system as a substitute teacher. Linda’s background is unique because of her education and work experience in both China and America. Linda has great interpersonal skills and is committed to making a difference in bridging the gap between Chinese and American cultures. Linda is married to Bruce Li, a technical director at Eurofins Scientific, Inc., and she is the mother of Evan (age 14) and Lisa (28).

 

Donald McLaughlin

Program Director, Entrepreneurship Camp

A graduate of Taylor University in Upland, Indiana, Donald spent more than twenty years in the financial services industry with both AG Edwards and Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor to both individual and institutional clients. For the past 17 years he has served as a major gifts development officer with Prison Fellowship, Teen Mania, Taylor University and Discovery Institute.

He currently serves as Director of Operations for Anchorsaway, based in Indianapolis, Indiana. He also was the co-Founder of the Michiana Free-Net, which was the first publicly available internet service in the Michiana area. Donald enjoys reading, traveling, and music and lives in Granger Indiana with his wife, Elizabeth. Donald and Elizabeth have 2 grown daughters – Kaitlin, and Holly, two wonderful sons-in-law and 2 really adorable grandchildren.

Luray Good

Program Director, California

Luray is an administrative pro! She excels in collaborating, team-building, and joining with people in high level leadership roles to help realize the goals of the organization.

As a certified Optician, her leadership skills were used for over 18 years to supervise 40+ personnel in several Optical offices between Los Angeles and Orange Counties. This role involved motivating and training the Opticians, meeting financial and sales goals, and assuring patient satisfaction. After the healthcare facilities in California closed, her career changed, and she moved into a training and conference services position with a leading educational organization, English Language Institute/China (ELIC). The next 18 years found her in leadership managing ELIC’s multiple summer teacher orientations in the US and their annual international conference in Thailand each year. One of her greatest memories was being voted employee of the year in 2002 by her colleagues, which resulted in a trip to Beijing and Qinhuangdao visiting Universities in both cities. This trip included a formal event at the Great Hall of the People for a contract signing and dinner. Luray has been married 38 years and has two grown children and three grandchildren that keep her busy when she is not working.

Pam Mulder

Program Director, California

Pam has a bachelor of Science degree. She worked in sales for 12 years and was the owner/founder of a children’s resale store called, “Precious Repeats”. She and her husband has a family business called Mulder Electric. She has been married for almost 37 years and has four children from ages 17-20 and one baby grandson. She enjoys knitting, gardening, watching movies and crafting. Her favorite food is Mexican and seafood!

James Brannon

California Program Director

James Brannon is the US Program Director of Pacific Link International Educational Services. Because of his parents’ work, James spent the first part of his life in China, going through the Chinese public education system before moving to Los Angeles for university. He graduated from Biola University with a B.S. in Biochemistry. During the majority of his time in college, James served in leadership with the International Students Association on campus while working extensively with international students at local high schools on both volunteer and work basis. Despite his educational background in science, James worked a year in sales during college, starting and running his own business selling educational products.
